Being Hispanic can be a little nerve-wracking sometimes because society tends to associate latinas with curves, unfortunately, not everyone can be voluptuous. I have always been on the petite side growing up and now that I am twenty-two years of age, I am starting to think that I am going to stay on the petite size. Don’t get me wrong, I love my body and I know that nobody is perfect so we have to learn to accept it and move on, but sometimes it can be a little difficult to find a good pair of jeans that fit.
As I got older, I realized that I had just been looking in the wrong places this whole time. My go-to store were forver21, Hollister, or H&M but soon I realized that jeans were a very important item in a wardrobe and I knew that I needed to invest in a good pair of jeans.
One day I was feeling adventurous and went inside of Nordstrom and went to the jean section. After being there for 30 minutes or so, I came across these dark wash ankle length jeans from Paige, and a light-wash pair from the brand Hudson. I decided to give them a shot and I went ahead and tried them on.
Once I had them on, I went outside to check them in their 3-way mirror and I was impressed with the results. The Paige denim jeans just hugged my body in all the right places and so did the Hudson jeans but the Paige jeans just felt a whole lot better.
I was beyond excited until I checked the price tag. The jeans that I had fallen in love were way out of my budget. They retailed for $199 and may I remind you that I was used to only paying 20-40 dollars per pair.
I was beyond disappointed that I was not able to purchase the jeans but at least I left knowing that there was a least a brand or two that carried jeans that fit my body size.
I decided to go home and do a little bit of research on this brand and see if it was worth the money and soon I came to the conclusion that they were indeed worth every penny. I made it my mission to start saving 5o dollars each week so that in 4 short weeks those pants could become mine.
The beautiful thing about Columbus, Ohio is that this city keeps growing. Stores that I never thought would open here, keep opening up. Nordstrom Rack is one of the many stores I never thought we would have the privilege of having but oh how wrong I was.
Who would ever want to pay full price for designer clothes when you can get them 20% off or more. I decided to give Nordstrom Rack a shot, I did not have anything to loose. It’s beautiful how some things turn out to be because little did I think that Paige Denim would ever make it to Nordstrom Rack.
I spent an hour or so just going through the jean rack looking at all the options and I narrowed it down to 4 pairs of jeans. I went on and tried them on and fell in love with 2 pairs. It was a pair of black denim and a dark wash denim from Paige. My favorite part about these jeans is that they were only half the price of the original price, both pairs were only 80 dollars. I did not hesitate and took those babies home with me.
Never Give Up
I guess what I am trying to say is that you should never give up on trying to search for something that you want. Don’t be lazy and try things on! You could be surprised with the results, just how I was. It is never a bad choice to invest in a piece of clothing that is essential for your wardrobe. Now picking an outfit is super easy because I can easily just grab any shirt knowing that I have a pair of jeans that fit well and can pretty much go with anything.
